Introduction
Les chants identitaires ou hymnes locaux en occitan, parfois calqués sur une matrice connue, faisaient partie du folklore local.
Celui-ci se chante sur l'air de "Lo cosin de París".
Il s'agit de l'adaptation par les habitants de Castelnau-Pégayrols d'une chanson attribuée à Arthémon Durand-Picoral (1862-1937), instituteur originaire de Saint-Chély d'Aubrac qui vécut à Castelnau de Mandailles.
